- Limit & force calibration: set right, the door seals the floor without slamming and reverses on a touch. Set lazily, it either gaps or hammers.
- Rail alignment & mounting: a rail angled or mounted on flexing brackets telegraphs noise into the house framing — the #1 cause of 'my new quiet opener isn't quiet.'
- Safety systems verified: photo eyes aligned and tested, pressure reverse tested with a 2×4, manual release demonstrated to you.

Which opener should I buy?
Our default recommendation tree: attached garage or bedrooms near the garage → belt drive with battery backup; detached garage or maximum budget value → chain drive; high or obstructed ceilings, or the quietest possible install → wall-mount; and add smart connectivity in almost every case, because the left-the-door-open alert alone earns it. Can you install an opener I bought online or at a big-box store?
Yes — we install customer-supplied openers regularly. We'll be upfront: hardware-store models sometimes differ from professional-channel equivalents in rail and accessory details, and the warranty is between you and the manufacturer. Either way the installation gets the same calibration and safety testing.
How long does installation take?
A straightforward swap on existing hardware typically runs a couple of hours including removal of the old unit, assembly, wiring of the wall console and sensors, limit and force calibration, remote programming and safety tests. First-time installs (no existing opener) and wall-mount conversions run longer.
Does a new opener fix a heavy or noisy door?
No — and this is where honest companies differ. The opener moves a balanced door; it can't cure bad springs or dry rollers, it can only mask them briefly while wearing itself out. If your door is heavy or loud, we'll fix that first (or at least tell you plainly) rather than let a new opener take the blame later.
